WE CHALLENGE INDUSTRY CONVENTION WITH SYSTEMS THINKING AND COLLABORATIVE INDIVIDUALITY TO CREATE VIBRANT PLACES THAT HONOR INHABITANTS OF THE BUILT AND NATURAL ENVIRONMENT.

As builders of large, mixed-use properties, Zocalo seriously considers the impact of our projects on the community and the environment. We challenge the business as usual mindset by starting with the end in mind, aligning the highest goals of each stakeholder: end users, neighbors, investors, partners, designers, craftspeople, and community jurisdictions, from entitlement and design, construction to occupancy, and beyond.

Zocalo’s integrated partnership enables collaborative creativity and authentic stewardship of natural and innate resources to create vibrant, inclusive, and activated space and place (Splace) which endures the test of time. Respectful collaboration with subcontractor and vendor partners who are experts in their respective craft is key to Zocalo’s success.

Zocalo’s systems-based thinking guides our teams at all levels of the enterprise to imagine, improve, and deliver complex projects. Our approach respects each and every person as an important contributor to our mission of integrating economic opportunity and lifestyle synergy, sustainable growth, and social connection. We have earned our reputation for being thoughtful builders, delivering innovative, energy efficient people-centric Splaces.

OUR APPROACH

AN UNWAVERING CUSTOMER FOCUS

We employ a disciplined, systems-based methodology to consistently contemplate the people who will live and use our buildings, as well as the needs of the surrounding community and municipality. We first identify the neighborhood needs, how the space will function, and how it will make the community better to endure the test of time.

AN ENGAGED AND EMPOWERED TEAM

From design to the physical build-out of the asset to delivery, our team is engaged and informed on all facets of the project. This holistic, master-builder perspective allows us to align our objectives, collaborate more creatively with our partners, and remedy issues quickly and fluidly to deliver the best enduring value.

A FOCUS ON CONTINUAL IMPROVEMENT

As pioneers of sustainable development and construction, our culture is built for continual improvement. Our teams are empowered to seek innovative ways to save energy, improve the way people use and interact in our spaces, and create opportunities for economic synergies in the neighborhoods in which we build.
