On March 26th, our newest team members will participate in a 3.5-hour LEED Principles course – an important introduction to how and why Zocalo builds the way we do.
LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is more than a certification. It’s a framework for designing, constructing, and operating buildings that are healthier for people and better for the environment. But at Zocalo, LEED is not about earning a plaque. It’s about performance. It’s about stewardship. And most importantly, it’s about PEOPLE.
While LEED certification is achieved during design and construction, its success depends on what happens after residents move in. That’s where our operations teams play a critical role.

As Denver continues to invest in a more sustainable and resilient future, the city has earned one of the highest recognitions in environmental leadership: LEED for Cities Platinum certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. LEED is one of the world’s most widely recognized green building and sustainability rating systems.
